Richard Hammond

Lead Lower North Island Manager

(Taranaki, Manawatu & Wairarapa Service Manager)

I was born in Hunterville and grew up on a sheep and Beef farm in the Rangitikei. I currently live in Sanson on a lifestyle farm with my partner Marlene, and in my down time I enjoy
rugby, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

I have been in the farming industry for over 35 years. Even though I have been with NZ Grazing since 2008 every day is a new day for learning and sharing of knowledge within the grazing industry.

I take great pride in my work and treat all the stock in my care as my own. I am very passionate about growing heifers to their full potential before they enter the next stage of their life. Grazing heifers with NZ Grazing, and under my management, is a great long-term investment for your farm, leaving you to focus on milking cows.

Using my many years of experience in the grazing industry I oversee and take care of all your grazing needs including animal health, mating management, and transport.
I have a trusting relationship and work with a large number of dairy farmers and grower farmers in the Taranaki, Rangitikei, Manawatu, and Wairarapa. I would enjoy sitting down with you to see how I can be of service to you and your Dairy heifer grazing requirements.

Amanda Seddon

(Manawatu & Hawkes Bay Service Manager)

Raised on a sheep and beef station under the Ruahine Rangers near Mangaweka, then farmed in the northern Manawatu, I have a good understanding of farming conditions in the Central North Island. Also familiar is the Hawkes Bay where I attended secondary school. At the age of 21 I established a Limousin Stud, visited, and worked showing cattle for studs in Canada, and having a good eye for quality stock I was invited to become a Royal Agricultural Show Society of NZ Interbreed Beef Judge. I’m now living on a lifestyle property in Feilding where I trade in lambs and breed thoroughbred racehorses. Holidays are spent boating on a lake, catching trout.

As a Service Manager for New Zealand Grazing Company, I am charged with producing quality heifers for our Owners while achieving financial results for our Graziers. I enjoy marrying a particular line of cattle with the appropriate property and then managing a successful outcome.

This is achievable by listening to the needs of my customers. Offering help in understanding the requirements of the MDM contract. Recognizing potential issues and mentoring best possible solutions through years of animal management experience and the collective knowledge of our team.

Conner Woods

(Taranaki & Whanganui Service Manager)

Born in Southland and raised in the Manawatū, I went straight into dairy farming after leaving school. I’ve worked on a range of dairy farms across the Manawatū, Southland and South Taranaki, gaining broad hands-on experience across different farming systems.

I now live in Whanganui with my wife, Haylee, and our two children. Outside of work, I enjoy kayak fishing and being a hands on family man.

My years working on dairy farms have given me plenty of experience with young stock and heifer rearing. I understand what it takes to grow healthy, well-grown heifers that are in the right condition and ready to enter the dairy herd and perform.

I’m excited to be part of the NZ Grazing Company team and to use my practical farming experience to work alongside growers and owners, helping them achieve great results with their heifers.

Robbie McDougall

(Field Technician)

Born and raised in Wanganui I ran the turner and growers flower market for a number for years. I have a small farm just our of Wanganui, with a few sheep and some cattle which keeps me busy. I also enjoy gardening and a bit of hunting. i have an eighteen year old son who is a doing a building apprenticeship, he was a great huntaway but not so interested in chasing sheep anymore.

I started with New Zealand Grazing in 2021 and enjoy my job as well as working alongside my colleagues, who are always very supportive.  Every grower farmer that I monitor, without exception, are great people who genuinely care for stock as if they were their own.
