I was raised on a sheep and beef station beneath the Ruahine Ranges near Mangaweka, which gave me a strong grounding in livestock farming from an early age. I later farmed in Northern Manawatū, building a solid understanding of the farming conditions across the Central North Island. I also attended secondary school in Hawke’s Bay, so I’m very familiar with that region and its farming systems.

At 21, I established my own Limousin stud. That experience, along with time spent in Canada visiting and working with studs and showing cattle, sharpened my eye for quality stock. Through this involvement in the industry, I was honoured to be invited to become a Royal Agricultural Show Society of New Zealand Interbreed Beef Judge.

Today, I live on a lifestyle property in Feilding where I trade lambs and breed thoroughbred racehorses. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending holidays boating on the lake and trout fishing.

As Service Manager for New Zealand Grazing Company, I’m responsible for producing quality heifers for our Owners while delivering strong financial results for our Graziers. I particularly enjoy matching the right line of cattle to the right property and managing that programme through to a successful outcome.

I believe success comes from listening carefully to our clients’ needs, helping them understand the requirements of the MDM contract, recognising potential challenges early, and mentoring practical, workable solutions. With years of hands-on animal management experience — supported by the collective knowledge of our team — I’m committed to achieving the best possible results for both Owners and Graziers.
